built from the official upstream source tarball in a per-distro schroot chroot, using upstream's own debian/ packaging, no code changes. Source packages are republished in dpkg source format 1.0 because upstream only generates their 3.0 (quilt) format in internal CI. On Debian 14 the build explicitly installs rpcsvc-proto (rpcgen is no longer part of the base system).
built natively per distro from the UltiMaker sources (Cura + CuraEngine): dependencies via Conan 2 from the UltiMaker Conan index, Python environment bundled with PyInstaller and installed under /opt, a small wrapper script provides standard filesystem paths, desktop file and icons are wired up by the package. Build-side adaptations: -include cstdint and -include iomanip compiler flags for GCC 13+, cmake pinned to <4, sip-build tool required. CuraEngine needs GCC 12+ and Python 3.10+, so Debian 11 and Ubuntu 22.04 cannot build current Cura; those suites get the official 5.9.1 AppImage repacked as a .deb (extracted and integrated, no code changes).
packaged from the PyPI source distribution; requires Python 3.11+, hence not available on Debian 11 and Ubuntu 22.04. On Debian 13+ and Ubuntu 26.04 it is a fully distro-native package: the Python module installs into /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages and the runtime dependencies (SQLAlchemy 2, Jinja2, PyYAML, defusedxml) come from the distro as real Depends; PySide6 is only used as a build tool (Qt resource compiler) and is a Recommends, never bundled. On Debian 12 and Ubuntu 24.04 the distro ships SQLAlchemy 1.4 which does not satisfy FirewallFabrik's >=2.0 requirement, so those two suites get a self-contained build with a private runtime under /opt (clearly marked, functionally identical).
cross-compiled with mingw-w64 from the official upstream source (tag 25.1.1), client-only build, native Windows service support, config defaults under C:\ProgramData. Installer and portable ZIP: /win/.
